OUR STORY
Hello, I'm Debs
For more than thirty years, horses have been the steady thread running through my life. From the first pony I ever sat on to the dressage and eventing partners I've trained and owned over the decades, I've spent long days mucking out stables, travelling to competitions, hacking through the forest — and I wouldn't change a single muddy minute of it.

A life shaped in the saddle
I've been lucky enough to enjoy both worlds — the precision and quiet conversation of dressage, and the heart-in-your-mouth thrill of eventing. Every horse I've owned has taught me something different, and I've always trained them myself, learning patience from the quiet ones and bravery from the bold.
These days, although I don't ride or compete any more, I love nothing more than helping friends with a little training of their own — whether that's polishing a dressage test or talking through a tricky moment with a young horse.

Why I started Debs and the Horse
Like so many horse owners, my phone is full of photographs of my horses — proud competition shots, soft moments by the stable door, ears framing a sunset on a hack. I always longed to have those faces around me every day: on the mug I reach for in the morning, on a soft t-shirt, a hoodie — anything I'd reach for or wear and see their face on.
But every time I looked, I couldn't find anywhere that would take my own treasured photograph and turn it into something lovely. I asked friends at the yard — the dressage girls, the eventers, the happy hackers — and time and again the answer was the same: "I'd love that too, but I don't know where to go either."
So I decided to build the place I'd been looking for.

Made for fellow horse lovers
Every portrait we make starts with your precious photograph and is transformed into timeless artistry — a pencil sketch, a rich oil painting, a soft watercolour wash, or a magical fantasy scene with tiny glowing fairies. The aim is always the same: to capture the spirit of your horse in something you'll treasure forever.
We print onto carefully chosen, high-quality products — mugs you'll reach for every morning, t-shirts soft enough to live in, and framed prints worthy of your favourite wall. Each one is made to order, packed with care, and posted with love.
More than anything, I love hearing about your horse. Drop me a note with your order, tell me their name, their quirks, the silly thing they do at breakfast — I read every word. Thank you for letting me be a small part of your horse's story.
If you want to get in touch just email me at debs@debsandthehorse.com — I would love to hear from you.
